How to Accomplish Your Body Transformation Goals
April 28, 2010 in affinity group by Joseph Arangio
“What do you want to accomplish over the next 12 weeks?”
This is one of the first things I ask a new client.
Truth is, the most successful people are the ones who can clearly articulate their goals over the next 84 days.
Check out these straightforward, focused responses:
“Lose 10 pounds of fat.”
“Feel happy and energetic every day.”
“Walk up the stairs without knee pain.”
“First to see my abs. Then get a washboard abdomen.”
“Lower my body fat to 15%.”
“Slam dunk a basketball.”
“Quit smoking.”
“Remove 5 inches from my waist.”
“Run a mile in under 6 minutes.”
“Be able to touch my toes.”
“Drop three dress sizes.”
“Easily walk 18 holes of golf.”
“Lower my blood pressure by 30 points.”
Sadly, the clients who cannot answer this question, or provide a vague response, are much less successful on day #84.
Some not-so-clear 12-week goals:
“Get in shape.”
“Fitness.”
“Muscle tone.”
“Gain weight and strength.”
“Stay healthy and fit.”
“Weight loss.”
“Get healthy.”
“Tone and diet.”
“Work out.”
So take a moment and answer this question:
“What do you want to accomplish over the next 12 weeks?”
Tell everyone you know about your plan to lose 15 pounds of fat over the next 84 days. Or gain 15 pounds of lean muscle. The key is to tell the world.
You can post your response below.
Studies show that you are more likely to succeed when you make your goals public.
Why?
It’s called social accountability. You’ll begin to talk about your goals with your team of supporters. And you will help each other out on days when you may feel tired and unmotivated. On the days that you’re feeling energized, simply return the favor and pick someone up who may be feeling down.
Go ahead and tell me what you want to accomplish over the next 12 weeks.
